Annually firms are evaluated on their level of customer service. This is done by distributing surveys to residents to obtain feedback on their level of satisfaction. The results are tabulated, and firms are benchmarked by CEL & Associates, Inc. (CEL), an independent consulting firm, against other real estate companies to determine the ranking. With 48 communities and more than 14,500 surveys distributed, Simpson achieved a response rate of more than 60%, which according to CEL is well above average. Simpson Property Group has participated in the survey over the past 15 years and has been recognized as the Category II winner for the past 12 years. The awards are presented, according to portfolio size, to the top companies in the multifamily real estate industry, and Simpson is the only firm to achieve this number of consecutive wins in the history of the survey.
The National Multifamily Customer Service Award for Excellence was first established in 1997 and has since become the standard by which large and small companies in the industry operate. The award reflects residents’ satisfaction and ranking of the overall quality level of services and amenities offered at their community. The entire survey process is tightly controlled by CEL; they look at the level of returned surveys in addition to overall satisfaction scores. Simpson Property Group has made tremendous strides in both of these areas over the past 14 years, improving service scores as a whole as well as for individual communities. Of the 48 Simpson communities, 38 were recognized as having Outstanding Customer Service Excellence and achieved a “Best In The Industry” rating for providing the highest level and quality of service. Of those honored, five communities achieved the highest level, the Platinum “A List” Award, meaning their residents gave them the highest rankings in the industry.
