Balcony Hacks

May 14, 2018

Most apartment balcony and patios are smaller in size so you need to get creative when it comes to decorating without taking up precious space. Try these hacks to utilize and decorate the limited space.

CRATES / BINS / CHESTS
Using chests, crates and other storage containers can easily create a place to store things as well as seats and tables. Simply drape a blanket or place cushions/pillows over the bins to make the seating area cozier. Place crates on their sides to create side tables which you can still store items in them. Simply paint the crates to make them more appealing to look at.

HANGING BALCONY TABLE
Enjoy meals on your balcony/patio with a hanging balcony table or shelf. Some styles collapse so you can easily move it out of the way when not in use.

PLANTERS
Make your space more attractive by putting planters with flowers or other plants along the railing. Check out how you can grow herbs, fruits and vegetables in small places such as your patio/balcony here.

SHADE
If you need some shade, try using a half umbrella so it doesn’t overtake your space.

PRIVACY
Hang outdoor curtains to create a sense of privacy.

LIGHTING
Using stringed lights is an easy way to create more light for darker areas as well as create a cozier atmosphere.
