Winter Activities

January 05, 2018

Are the shorter days and colder nights messing with your fitness routine? It can be difficult to find the energy or motivation to do anything after work when it is cold and dark outside. Even paying for a gym membership can be a pain. However, there are multiple activities outside of the gym that can burn calories and still be enjoyable. Here are some snow and indoor activities for the entire family to keep you active during the winter – just make sure to dress appropriately:

  • Ice Skating
  • Sledding
  • Skiing / Snowboarding
  • Snowshoeing
  • Snow Tubing
  • Build snowmen, snow forts, etc.
  • Indoor Sports – basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, etc.

Depending where you live, some of these activities may be available right out your front door. Here is a list of some of the best places to find these activities if you’re located in a warmer climate and are looking for a place to go to enjoy these activities:

  • Ice Skating – check out local ice rinks close to you.
  • Sledding – you can go sledding wherever there are snowy hills!
  • Skiing / Snowboarding
  • Snowshoeing
  • Snow Tubing
  • Build snowmen, snow forts, etc. – you can do this wherever there is snow!
  • Indoor Sports – check out local YMCAs and other recreational centers close to you
