Best Fireworks Displays

June 27, 2022

The 4th of July is right around the corner! This year, there is no shortage of great activities and events to celebrate one of our biggest holidays. If you still don’t have plans for the Fourth, what better way to spend Independence Day than with a great firework display? Here is a list of the biggest and best firework shows across the country:

Washington, D.C.

Where better to celebrate the 4th of July than in the nation’s capital? Located at the National Mall, the National Park Service will be putting on a 35-minute fireworks display over DC’s most iconic monuments. The show is set to begin at around 9 pm but be sure to arrive early to catch the Capital Fourth concert put on by PBS. The concert will feature musical performances from a variety of genres and will conclude with the National Symphony Orchestra.

Atlanta, GA

Atlanta’s biggest 4th of July fireworks display is back for the first time since 2019. Now known as “Look Up Atlanta,” the celebration at Centennial Olympic Park is said to be the biggest firework display in the southeast. The display is set for July 3rd and will feature performances by Angelica Hale and the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra. Tickets start at $10, and all proceeds will benefit the Centennial Olympic Park beautification fund.

Dallas, TX

Each year, the Dallas suburb of Adison hosts one of the most renowned firework shows in the country, Kaboom Town. Annually boasting awards from the American Pyrotechnics Association, Kaboom Town is known for having one of the biggest fireworks displays in the nation. Taking place on July 3rd, the show is set to draw in over 400,000 visitors and will have over 1,500 pounds of fireworks. There will also be several live performances throughout the day. Tickets are required but are 100% free!

Denver, CO

The Independence Eve celebration returns this year to Colorado’s capital. For over a decade, thousands of people have gathered at Civic Center Park to celebrate our independence and the local community. Gates open at 4 pm on July 3rd and admission is free. This year offers a host of local musicians playing before the Colorado Symphony performs at 8 pm. The night concludes with a firework display from the roof of the City and County building. There will also be food trucks and other vendors throughout the day.

Pasadena, CA

This year, the Rose Bowl is hosting the annual AmericaFest Celebration on July 4th. Known for being one of the largest and oldest shows to celebrate America’s birthday, attendees can expect an action-packed Independence Day. Beginning at 5 pm, the festival will feature a motocross show, musical performances, and other family-friendly activities. The night concludes with a firework display at 9 pm. Tickets start at $20 and be sure to arrive early as parking fills up quick!

No matter where or how you celebrate, Simpson hopes you have a fun and safe 4th of July weekend! Should you find yourself looking for an apartment home in any of the areas mentioned above, be sure to check out our list of communities here.
