September 24, 2018
The smell of pumpkin spice everything has begun to fill the air. The breeze feels crisper and the leaves have started to change. Grocery stores are preparing to dedicate entire sections of their store to individually-wrapped candy; Fall is here!
The first official day of Fall was Saturday, September 22nd. Fall is one of the most beautiful times of the year and most places have quite favorable weather. Below are some fun activities to share with your better half – or you friends!
Attend a Football Game
Football is back, with both college and NFL regular season games starting in late-August and September. Along with the return of football season, comes tailgating, good food and drinks to share with friends. If your favorite team isn’t close by or you can’t score tickets, invite everyone over for a game day party at your house.
Hit up Oktoberfest
While the original Oktoberfest takes place the third weekend of September in Munich, many cities have their own Oktoberfest where you can indulge in traditional German food, drinks and festivities. Oktoberfest celebrations may include stein hoisting competitions, live music and dancing, parades, wiener dog races and more. Click here for a list of the top Oktoberfest celebrations in the US.
Visit a Haunted House or Corn Maze
Halloween brings out all the spooky things. Cozy up with your significant other for a scary movie and then head out to your local haunted house or haunted corn maze for extra scares. As a bonus, many corn mazes include a pumpkin patch where you can pick up your pumpkins for carving!
Go Camping
Fall is arguably the best time of the year to go camping. The temperatures are cooler, especially in the evening which makes for the best time to have s’mores around a campfire. In many places, the leaves change from green to gold, red or orange – a stunning sight. Pair your camping trip with a fun hike during the day, for a perfect fall weekend.
