The holidays are full of excitement and cheer – and missed package delivery fear. Holiday to-do lists are long and last-minute gifts can be hard to avoid. But there are a few things you can do to help ensure you get your packages on time and prevent missed package delivery stress.
MONITOR TRACKING UPDATES
Most carriers utilize tracking numbers you can use to find out when your package is going to be delivered. Some even provide notification sign up to send tracking updates via email or text. Knowing when to expect your delivery can help avoid missed deliveries, depending on if it is scheduled to arrive during or outside business hours.
CONSIDER HOLIDAY HOURS
Speaking of business hours, be mindful of holiday hours of the building where your package is being delivered. Make sure someone is available to accept the package delivery if you’re shipping a package to a secure building. Some package deliveries require a signature and the carrier won’t be able to deliver the package if no one is available to sign for it.
Also consider holiday hours when picking up a package if someone is going to accept the delivery on your behalf. Check with your leasing office on what timeframe you will be able to pick up packages.
CONSIDER THE DELIVERY ADDRESS
It might make more sense to have packages delivered to your place of business, especially if you work a normal 9am-5pm schedule. This might work better for your schedule rather than having to work around the leasing office’s holiday or package pick-up hours.
AMAZON® LOCKER
Are you an Amazon Prime member? If so, you may have heard of Amazon Lockers which is a free service for Amazon Prime members. The locker system is an easy way to accept deliveries and returns on your own schedule. Amazon gives you a little more flexibility by allowing pick up of the package within 3 calendar days of the delivery.
Happy holiday shopping season!
