With Valentine's Day coming up next week, you may be scrambling to come up with a date night idea for your Valentine. We've compiled a list of our favorite restaurants across the country, to aid in your planning!
El Sirenito: Seattle, WA - www.ElSirenitoSeattle.com/
In Georgetown, the oldest neighborhood in Seattle, you can’t miss El Sirenito which serves small bite, Mexican-style seafood. El Sirenito has a long list of mezcal available and Wednesdays are half-off mezcal flights. In addition to fresh, house made guacamole and tortilla chips, try the montaditos which is Macrina bakery toast served with your choice of toppings – hint: the Matiz Spanish sardine is excellent! On warm evenings, be sure to check out the back patio and firepit.
Emmer & Rye: Austin, TX - www.EmmerAndRye.com/
Emmer & Rye is located on the vibrant Rainey Street in Austin, TX. Their menu focuses on small plates which range from vegetable focused to protein-heavy dishes which can be mixed and matched along with nightly specials which arrive via dim-sum-style carts throughout the meal. Just when you think you are full, another cart comes by with a wildly delicious and decadent option and you can’t stop from saying “Oh ok, just one more.” Their pastas and breads are fresh-made onsite as are their herbs and some vegetables. The wine selection pairs nicely with their small plate options. Emmer & Rye is hosting a seven-course tasting menu for Valentine’s day – this is one reservation you don’t want to pass up.
Foundation Social Eatery: Roswell, GA - www.FoundationATL.com/
Located about 30 minutes north of downtown Atlanta, the suburb of Roswell, GA is known for some hidden foodie gems including Foundation Social Eatery. The restaurant’s décor can be described as modern casual and the ‘social’ part of the restaurant’s name stems from the fact that the restaurant does not have TVs to encourage lively conversation during your meal. Not to be missed are the pan roasted scallops, only available on the dinner menu. Be sure to save room for dessert – the plating is beautiful and after all, you eat with your eyes first!
Crispina: Atlanta, GA - www.CrispinaAtlanta.com/
Crispina, locally owned, yet globally inspired, serves up exceptional Italian homemade pastas and pizza. The restaurant is tucked inside a strip shopping center in the Vinings neighborhood of Atlanta, but don’t let that deter you! It has a cozy atmosphere, a great wine and specialty cocktail selection, and wood-fired artisan pizzas with oh so delicious crusts. With all pizzas and pastas priced at less than $20, it’s a place that won’t break the bank for a night out. Take it from TripAdvisor, “A neighborhood gem in Vinings”.
