Swimming pools are fun and a good source of exercise. But they can also be dangerous if safety guidelines aren’t followed. Review the below guidelines as well as any posted pool area rules with your family /roommates before diving in!
SUPERVISE CHILDREN
Children should be supervised AT ALL TIMES when in a pool area. Simply giving a child a flotation device does NOT remove the need for supervision. Be prepared for accidents and emergencies by knowing CPR and other first aid procedures. You can find information on water safety and CPR classes by visiting Redcross.org. And as always, call 911 in case of emergency.
FOLLOW POOL AREA RULES
Pool areas can be dangerous to children as well as adults which makes following posted notifications and rules extremely important. Also, make sure your guests are following pool area rules as there are no exceptions! Rules shouldn’t be taken lightly as they can help in avoiding water-related injuries and accidents.
NO PETS
Pets are not allowed in community pool areas because of safety concern.
NO GLASS
Glass is also not allowed in community pool areas because of safety concerns.
REPORT MAINTENANCE NEEDS
If you notice something isn’t working correctly, report it to your leasing office right away. Apartment communities typically don’t have lifeguards on staff so maintenance needs should be reported as soon as they are noticed.
