And as 2024 comes to a close, we want to recognize the incredible accolades, portfolio expansion and new partnerships that contribute to our growth and success. None of which would be possible without our dedicated employees, who exemplify Simpson's Core Values and inspire us every day. Let’s look back at some of the highlights that made 2024 such a memorable year!
ACCOLADES
- 2024 was another banner year for Simpson Housing as we received several prestigious awards. For the 21st consecutive year, Simpson Housing earned the CEL “A List” Award for Excellence in Customer Service, a testament to the invaluable feedback from our residents during the annual REACT survey.
- Additionally, we ranked #9 in the 2024 ORA Division II Power Rankings by J Turner Research, recognizing excellence in online reputation management.
- Simpson Housing was also honored as a Top Workplace for 2024 by USA Today, as well as receiving regional awards by The Oregonian, The Austin American-Statesman and The Charlotte Observer.

PARTNERSHIPS AND INITIATIVES
- Our commitment to sustainability and community outreach continued to thrive in 2024. Simpson participated in the Move for Hunger initiative, hosting both a summer and winter food drive to help reduce food insecurity and prevent food waste. Over the course of these drives, Simpson communities came together to collect and donate significant amounts of food to local food banks, making a meaningful impact in the fight against hunger.
- On Earth Day, we highlighted Simpson’s commitment to environmental sustainability, including efforts detailed in our Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility Report. This commitment is further exemplified by The Camille Apartments in Bethesda, MD, achieving the prestigious Emerald level certification under the National Green Building Standard.
NEW DEVELOPMENTS AND EXCITING CHANGES
- We expanded in 2024 with the addition of several vibrant communities to both our ownership and management portfolios. Malden Square Apartments in Malden, MA, brings convenient access to urban amenities and transportation, while Auden Apartments in Smyrna-Vinings, GA, and Velo Forest Hills Apartments in Boston, MA, offer modern living spaces and thoughtfully curated amenities.
ONSITE TEAMS RECOGNITION AND EVENTS
- April marked our celebration of Onsite Teams Day, a time to recognize the hard work and dedication of our onsite professionals who play a vital role in creating welcoming and supportive communities. Additionally, Simpson’s annual Make a Difference Day in May saw 470 employees volunteer 1,823.5 hours with various non-profit organizations, making a positive impact nationwide.
- In 2024, Simpson communities celebrated the annual Holiday Coloring Contest, which received over 50 submissions from residents of all ages. The winners showcased exceptional creativity and added a festive spirit to our holiday season.

And finally, that brings us to the 2024 REACT Survey. Earlier in this post, we mentioned that Simpson Housing earned the CEL “A List” Award for the 21st consecutive year, thanks to the feedback gathered during this survey—a true testament to our commitment to excellence. Each year, CEL & Associates, Inc., a third-party real estate consulting firm, conducts this resident satisfaction survey, which provides benchmarks for customer service in property management. Companies meeting or exceeding the criteria are awarded the prestigious A List Award, announced the following year.
The 2024 REACT Survey was conducted in October and November, achieving an impressive 52.5% response rate. This valuable feedback allows us to concentrate on long-term goals and foster continuous improvement. Additionally, several lucky residents were rewarded with free rent for their participation, making this survey a win-win for everyone involved.
